The Struggle Within

As a 46-year-old man, I have always felt the pressure to always appear strong and in control. But deep down, I have been dealing with perfectly hidden depression for years. It’s like I am constantly wearing a mask, pretending to be okay when I am really struggling inside. It’s exhausting to put up this facade every day. I know I need help, but I’m afraid to reach out. I worry about being judged or seen as weak. But I’m starting to realize that seeking help is not a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of strength. I want to encourage other men out there who are going through the same thing to know that they are not alone. It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to not be okay. Let’s break the stigma surrounding men and mental health. We deserve to seek help and live a fulfilling life.
