Students say their school's cellphone ban helped improve their mental health

I recently read an article about a high school in New York that has banned cell phones on campus to improve mental health. It’s a bold move, and I think it could have a really positive impact on the students. We all know how much time teenagers spend on their phones, and how it can lead to issues like social media depression and bullying. By removing this distraction, students can focus more on their studies and have more time to interact with each other. It’s a great way to help create a healthier and more positive environment for the students to learn in.

I completely understand where you’re coming from. As a parent, I worry about the impact of cell phone use on my kids’ mental health all the time. It’s so easy for them to get caught up in comparing themselves to others on social media or dealing with cyberbullying. I think it’s great that this school is taking proactive steps to create a healthier environment for their students. It’s important for young people to have a space where they can focus on their studies and have meaningful interactions with their peers. Hopefully, other schools will follow suit and prioritize their students’ mental well-being. Thanks for sharing the article, it’s nice to see positive changes being made for our kids!

Hey, I saw that article too! I think it’s really cool that the school is taking such a big step to prioritize mental health. I mean, we all know how much pressure high school can bring, and adding in the whole social media and phone drama doesn’t help at all. I can totally see how banning cell phones could create a better environment for students. I remember how much I used to stress about likes and comments when I was in high school, and looking back, I wish I had spent more time just being present and connecting with my classmates. It’s awesome to see schools recognizing the importance of mental health and taking action to make a positive change. Hopefully, more schools will follow suit!
