Lately stress has made my brain feel like it’s stuck in the “on” position. Even when nothing urgent is happening, I’m running through conversations, tasks, and possible problems. I’ll sit down to relax and somehow end up mentally planning the next three days.
The hardest part is how tired I feel without actually feeling calm. My body wants rest, but my thoughts keep jumping around. I’ve been trying to write things down before bed, which helps a little, but my mind still finds something else to worry about. Anyone else get that restless, switched-on feeling even when they’re exhausted?

That “tired without feeling calm” part is rough. I get that too, especially when I’ve been carrying several small decisions around all day. Writing everything down helps me, but only if I add one clear next step for the morning, otherwise the list becomes another thing to analyze.
One thing that sometimes helps is doing something deliberately boring for ten minutes, like folding laundry without a podcast or screen. It doesn’t shut my brain off completely, but it gives the thoughts less to grab onto.

The “one clear next step” idea makes a lot of sense. I’ve found that a long list can keep my mind working instead of settling it, but choosing one small action gives the thoughts somewhere to land.
The deliberately boring activity is useful too. I sometimes wash dishes or tidy one small area without anything playing in the background. It doesn’t make my mind completely quiet, but it takes away some of the fuel.
