I didn’t realize how much my routine was holding me together until it disappeared. Nothing dramatic happened all at once, but the regular things that gave my days some shape gradually stopped being there. Then the depression showed up, and it felt like I was failing at basic life instead of reacting to a huge change.
The strange part is that I still want to feel better, but simple tasks seem pointless when there’s no structure around them. I’m trying to rebuild small parts of the day, like getting dressed at a normal time, going outside, and eating something before the afternoon. It feels almost silly, but without those anchors I slide pretty quickly.
I keep thinking I need to find my old routine again, when maybe I need to make a different one that fits what life is now. That’s the part I’m struggling with most.
