Overcoming my phobias - my story

I have seen the power that fear can have over a person. It can weigh you down, keep you from living your life to the fullest and prevent you from taking risks and growing. I was no exception. For years, I was controlled by my phobias - of abandonment, heights, and chaos - preventing me from putting myself out there in any significant way.

Then one day something changed. I realized that if I wanted to truly live my life, I had to confront these fears head-on. No more avoiding or procrastinating; it was time to take action! That’s when I sought out professional help as well as read several amazing books on overcoming phobias which were incredibly helpful for me.

To start, journaling every night has been a step in the right direction; this helps me see what triggers my phobias and any patterns present in my behavior and reactions to them. From there, exposure therapy has really helped me transform into the confident person I am now. By gradually introducing myself to new environments and situations that terrified me before only takes a few minutes at a time has made all the difference for facing my fears with courage!

Of course, challenging old thoughts patterns is essential too – especially when giving advice to others dealing with similar issues since everyone’s journey is different! Self-care is also very important - things like yoga, meditation and positive affirmations really help me stay grounded when faced with challenging situations or anxieties about the future.

Regardless of where you are at in your journey – know that you have strength within yourself even in hard times. Confronting our demons isn’t easy work but it’s worth it – the freedom gained is worth more than gold itself!
