Overcoming addiction and mental health - my story

For years, I felt like my life was spiraling out of control. I found myself engaging in destructive behavior, putting my health and safety at risk. I had a strong addiction to drugs and alcohol, a battle with mental health issues and struggle with impulsivity.

It took an immense amount of work and dedication, but I’m proud to say I’m in a much healthier place today. I reached out for help when necessary, asking friends and family for assistance and taking steps towards healing.

My recovery has been difficult but very rewarding. A major part of the journey was getting involved in support groups; being able to physically attend meetings as well as seek guidance from members online who could relate to my struggles was invaluable. Additionally, the aid of counselors, therapists, nutritionists and other professionals has proven beneficial to my progress.

I’m grateful to have come so far in my journey; each day is a reminder that there’s hope if one takes initiative for themselves. Building self-awareness and self-love has enabled me to make positive decisions moving forward & encouraged me to stay on the path towards happiness and overall wellness - something I haven’t felt for years!
