As a 32-year-old man, I never expected to experience anxiety during my partner’s early pregnancy. The overwhelming feeling of responsibility and the fear of the unknown were sometimes too much to handle. I found myself constantly worrying about the health of my partner and the well-being of our future child. However, I have discovered that opening up and seeking support from others has been incredibly helpful. It’s okay to feel anxious, and it’s okay to ask for help. I have found solace in talking to other expectant fathers and seeking therapy to manage my anxiety. I’ve also learned the importance of self-care and taking time for myself to relax and calm my mind. I want to remind other men in similar situations that it’s okay to feel this way and that there is support available. We’re in this together, and we can navigate through this anxiety and be strong for our partners and children.
