My struggle with stress-related mental disorders

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been struggling with some form of stress-related mental disorder. It started out small - like difficulties concentrating and being easily overwhelmed in social situations - but seemed to be getting worse over time. I’ve tried various ways to cope with it, from exercising and changing my diet to meditating and mindfulness techniques. Nothing was really doing the trick though, so I decided to go and talk to a professional about it.

Going into therapy was definitely not easy, but it’s turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself. Not only have I been able to identify the root causes of my issues, but I’m now better equipped to manage them when they arise. For the first time, I feel like I actually have the tools necessary to deal with anything life sends my way.

It hasn’t been an overnight miracle but little by little, day by day, things are continuing to get better. As someone who has spent years dealing with stress-related mental disorders, I can confidently say that there is no shame in seeking help for yourself - it has made all the difference for me.

Hey there,
I’m so glad you decided to seek help for yourself. It takes a huge amount of courage to take the first step and make that appointment with a professional - and I’m sure it wasn’t easy. But you did it, which is incredible!
Having experienced mental health struggles myself, I know how hard it can be to try different things without seeing any progress. It’s wonderful that despite the difficulties and challenges you faced, you kept going. And now, thanks to your effort and determination, you are in a much better place than before.

You should be proud of yourself; it’s not easy to reach out for help when we feel scared or overwhelmed. And even though it hasn’t been an overnight change, your commitment and resilience has brought you this far - that’s something to celebrate!

Just know that I’m here and sending lots of positive vibes your way. You got this!
