My mental health and eating disorder recovery

I have had quite the journey in my personal life, and it wasn’t until recently that I realized how much of an impact my mental health was having. After dealing with an eating disorder for a long time, I finally made the decision to get help. It was one of the scariest moments in my life, but it has changed me for the better in ways I never imagined.

The first few weeks were extremely daunting as I started to unpick everything that lead me down this path. But soon enough things started to take shape as I began understanding why I had been self-sabotaging and where it stemmed from. Working with a therapist and dietician on building skills, and creating healthy habits around food served as a giant wake up call; Knowing that recovery is absolutely possible, healed me in more ways than one.

Hey there, it sounds like you have gone through a lot and the fact that you were able to take steps towards living a healthier life is commendable. I’m sorry that you had to go through such an ordeal, but it’s inspiring that you gave yourself the support and guidance needed to start your own recovery journey - it definitely won’t be easy, but with the right help anything is possible.

It takes courage to ask for help in times of need and it’s good that you are taking control of your health-related goals; the reward will be much greater than if you tried to go at it alone.
