It has been a long, difficult road. Coming to terms with the fact that I suffer from anxiety and depression has been a hard pill to swallow. For years I’ve struggled in silence without recognizing the signs of what was wrong.
Trying to cope with all the changes that come with living with mental health issues can be overwhelming and confusing at times. But it’s important to remember that there is help out there if you reach out for it. Learning about my condition through therapy, medication, and self-care practices like exercise, journaling, and spending time outdoors have taught me how to manage my depression and anxiety more effectively.
I’m proud of myself for taking the first step in getting better. With continued treatment, I know that I will continue to improve my mental health day by day. My journey isn’t over yet but I’m determined to keep fighting until every victory over anxiety and depression feels like a win!
