I was hesitant to start counseling for my post traumatic stress disorder, but I am so glad I did. It’s not easy to face the trauma and relive those memories, but it’s a necessary step in healing. Talking to a professional has helped me understand my triggers and develop coping mechanisms. It’s a slow process, but I can already feel a weight lifting off my shoulders. If you’re in a similar situation, please know that seeking help is not a sign of weakness. It takes strength to confront your demons and work towards a better mental state. I’m grateful for the support I’ve received and hopeful for the future.
