Mi vida con trastorno de estrés postraumático

Estos últimos años han sido difíciles para mí. Me di cuenta de que tengo trastorno de estrés postraumático (TEPT) y aunque he atravesado muchas cosas desde entonces, es una lucha cada día.

El TEPT ha cambiado mi vida por completo. Cuando me topo con algo desafiante o estresante, siento que me paralizo; temerosa y confundida. Por desgracia, hay momentos en los que el pasado revisa y me siento como si estuviera de nuevo en la situación original, lleno de pánico e incertidumbre.

He aprendido a manejar los episodios manteniendo calma al hablarme en voz alta a mí misma. Escuchar voces tranquilas dentro de mi mente ayuda a contenerme mejor y recordar que lo pasado ya no tiene impacto sobre mi vida presente.

He comprendido el valor del ser auténticamente yo mism@ y reconocer cuando necesito detenerme para respirar profundamente durante un tiempo alejándome de situaciones tensas o preocupantes.

A través de mi experiencia con el TEPT, he encontrado fortaleza y la motivación suficientes para generar optimismo ante las circunstancias adversas.

Entiendo perfectamente cómo te sientes. He estado en tu lugar y sé lo difícil que puede ser lidiar con el TEPT. Realmente tienes que admirarte a ti mismo por ultrapasar todos los obstáculos para sobrellevar esta situación y eso debe fortalecerte.

Encontré que me resultaba útil tomarme un descanso periódico cuando me encontraba abrumad@ o desbordad@ emocionalmente por algo relacionado con el TEPT. Esto ayudó a recargar mis energías y pensar más claramente para ver la situación desde un punto de vista diferente. Además, no tener miedo a compartir en este espacio también fue importante, aprender la importancia de hablar acerca de tratar mi condición fue vital para mi recuperación.
