Just sharing my thoughts on harm obsessive ocd

What stood out to me was how often we hear about OCD in general, but harm obsessive OCD doesn’t seem to get as much attention. It’s like this hidden struggle that so many people face, but it’s not talked about nearly enough. I remember when I first realized I was dealing with these intrusive thoughts about causing harm. It was such a jarring experience, and I felt completely alone in it.

At first, I thought this was just me being dramatic or imagining things. The thoughts would pop up out of nowhere, and I would spiral into this overwhelming fear of losing control. It wasn’t that I wanted to hurt anyone—I love my friends and family too much for that. But the mere existence of those thoughts made me question everything about myself. Have you ever felt that way? Like you’re battling with your own mind?

One thing that really helped me was understanding that these thoughts don’t define who I am. It’s easier said than done, I know. But learning about OCD and how it manifests in different ways was a game-changer for me. I started practicing mindfulness, which helped me create some distance from those thoughts. I would tell myself, “Okay, that’s just a thought. It doesn’t mean anything about me.”

I also found it incredibly valuable to share my experiences with trusted friends. Just talking about it lifted some of that weight off my shoulders. If you’ve been grappling with similar thoughts, I encourage you to reach out. It’s amazing how just knowing you’re not alone can make a difference in how you process these feelings.

What do you all think? Have you found any strategies that worked for you in managing intrusive thoughts or OCD? I’d love to hear your stories!
