I keep reorganizing things even after everything is already in its place. I’ll move books around, straighten a drawer, then notice one thing that feels slightly off and start over again. Sometimes I know it doesn’t really matter, but stopping makes me feel restless, like I’m leaving something unfinished.
The worst part is how drained I feel afterward. I lose hours to it and still don’t feel completely satisfied. It’s frustrating because organizing is supposed to make life easier, but lately it feels more like another thing I can’t escape. Does anyone else get stuck repeating this until they’re exhausted?

That restless “unfinished” feeling can be really hard to shut off, even when the room already looks fine. I’ve had times where I kept adjusting small things because stopping felt worse than doing one more check.
What helped me a little was setting a clear stopping point before I started, like one drawer or 15 minutes, then leaving it as-is even if it didn’t feel perfect. The discomfort didn’t disappear right away, but it usually came down after a while. Losing hours and ending up drained sounds like it may be worth mentioning to a therapist, especially if the urge feels impossible to control.

The 15-minute limit sounds practical, especially since “one more check” can easily turn into another hour. I’ve found that having a timer makes stopping feel more like following a plan than giving in to the discomfort.
I like that you mentioned the feeling usually comes down eventually. That reminder helps me tolerate the unfinished feeling instead of assuming I have to fix it immediately. Talking to a therapist seems sensible too if it keeps taking over so much time.
