Some days I wake up feeling low, even though nothing has actually gone wrong. The bills are paid, nobody’s upset with me, and I can still get through the usual chores, but everything feels flat and heavier than it should. I remember one morning making coffee and just standing there staring at the mug, wondering why I felt like crying when I had no clear reason.
I feel guilty about it because I can’t point to one problem and say, “That’s it.” Then I start searching for an explanation, which usually makes me feel worse. Does anyone else get these unexplained low spells, and what helps you get through the day?

That coffee mug moment makes sense to me. I’ve had mornings where nothing was technically wrong, but even starting the day felt like too much. The lack of a clear reason can make the guilt worse, like I’m supposed to prove I’m allowed to feel bad.
What helps me is lowering the bar instead of trying to solve it right away. I’ll eat something simple, shower if I can, and do one small task. Sometimes I write down how I feel without trying to explain it. A low spell doesn’t need a perfect reason to be real.

The part about not needing to prove you’re allowed to feel bad really hit home. I used to spend so much energy looking for a logical cause that I had none left for getting through the morning.
The one thing that helped me was choosing a “minimum day” task before I even got out of bed. Usually it was taking a shower or putting something decent in my stomach. If I did that, the day counted as a success. Writing the feeling down without dissecting it sounds like a good way to stop feeding the guilt.
