Finding Peace: Living with PTSD as a Mental Health Worker

I’m a 32-year-old man working in the mental health field, and I struggle with PTSD. It’s been a tough road, but I’ve found ways to cope and find moments of peace. I find solace in connecting with others who understand what I’m going through. I’ve also found that taking time for self-care, whether it’s through therapy, meditation, or simply taking a walk outside, has been crucial for my healing process. I want to remind my fellow mental health workers that it’s okay to seek help and take care of ourselves, even as we care for others. We are not alone in this journey, and together, we can find strength and support. Let’s continue to lift each other up and work towards finding peace in our own lives while helping others do the same. We’ve got this.
