As a 44-year-old woman, I have found myself struggling with social media depression. It’s so easy to get caught up in comparing our lives to others, especially when it seems like everyone else has it all together. But I’ve come to realize that social media only shows a curated version of reality, and comparing myself to that is not fair to myself. Instead, I’m learning to focus on the things that bring me joy and fulfillment in real life, whether it’s spending time with loved ones, pursuing hobbies, or practicing self-care. It’s a daily practice to shift my mindset, but I’m finding moments of peace and contentment beyond comparison. If you’re struggling with social media depression, know that you’re not alone, and it’s okay to take a step back and prioritize your mental health.
