As a 43-year-old woman, I have struggled for years with my bipolar disorder. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions and I’ve often felt alone in my battle. But then I discovered Nessa Barrett and her journey with bipolar. Seeing someone so young and influential openly discussing mental health gave me a newfound sense of hope. It reminded me that I am not alone, and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Nessa’s courage to speak out about her struggles has inspired me to be more open about my own journey, and to seek the support I need. I want to thank her for being a beacon of hope for so many of us who struggle with mental illness. I now have a renewed sense of determination to keep fighting and to never give up. I have hope that things will get better, and for that, I am truly grateful.
