Recovery from an eating disorder is not an easy path, but I have found hope in it. After struggling with the physical and emotional toll of an eating disorder for so long, I am determined to get better.
I’m trying to find a way to be confident in my own skin and make peace with food, which has been incredibly hard. I know that if I take this journey one day at a time it will be possible to reach a state of wellness and balance in my life.
I have surrounded myself with people who can support me through this process. Friends, family, my therapist - these are all resources that help me stay focused on achieving progress towards full recovery. My goal is to keep taking small steps forward and never give up on myself as I travel this difficult road.
One thing I have learned over the years is that receiving support from loved ones is essential to recovery and can offer us so much hope. Knowing someone cares about us allows us to take risks along the journey which leads us closer to healing than ever before. Even when it feels like issues related to our body image or our relationship with food are too big for us alone, we can take comfort in having a strong support system behind us every step we take forward towards wellness.
No matter how seemingly insurmountable the challenges may appear at times, finding hope helps keep me motivated throughout my eating disorder recovery process.
