As a 33-year-old woman, I have spent years hiding my PTSD, afraid of being judged or dismissed. But recently, I have come to realize that by keeping it all inside, I was only hurting myself more. I decided to seek help and talk to a therapist about my experiences. It was scary at first, but it was also incredibly freeing. I discovered that there is strength in vulnerability and that there are people who genuinely want to help me. I am still on the path to healing, but I am no longer doing it alone. If you are in a similar situation, I encourage you to take that first step towards facing your PTSD. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. You deserve to live a life free from the burden of hiding your pain.
