Feeling low and trying to stay steady

It’s fascinating how feeling low can make even ordinary things seem heavier than they really are. Lately I’ve been trying to stay steady by keeping my expectations small: getting outside for a short walk, eating something decent, answering one message, or simply making it through the day without judging myself too harshly.

I don’t always feel better straight away, but having a few simple routines gives me something to hold on to. I’m also learning that “staying steady” doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine. Some days it just means noticing that I’m struggling and giving myself permission to take things slowly.

What helps you when your mood drops—quiet time, being around people, keeping busy, or something else?
