Dealing with pregnancy blues

I’m feeling really overwhelmed right now. The reality of being pregnant is finally setting in, and it can be overwhelming. I’m having a lot of highs and lows as I navigate through this kind of uncharted territory. One moment I feel excited about the possibilities ahead, but then the bliss fades away when reality hits – the nausea, exhaustion, physical changes, stress… all of which can leave me feeling sad and alone.

I sometimes feel like no one understands what I’m going through-- people talk about pregnancy glow, but they don’t often talk about the blues. That’s why it’s so important to reach out to others who might be able to relate and seek support whenever you need it. No matter how much you try to go it alone, it’s good to have friends or family members who understand what you’re going through—or a professional if needed.

It’s ok to not feel 100% thrilled every minute of your pregnancy—you’re allowed to experience a range of emotions throughout this journey and remind yourself that these feelings are always temporary and will pass eventually; know that things will get better soon!
