I personally struggled for quite some time with mental stressors. I felt as though too much was going on in my life, leaving me unable to prioritize or focus on anything. It’s an exhausting feeling without sufficient energy to take care of myself or anyone else for that matter. All I wanted was a break from this never-ending cycle.
I had to figure out, for myself, how to deal with my mental stressors in order to be able to move forward positively. I found that the best way for me was choosing self-care activities: eating well, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep and being active outside if possible. Having moments of solitude gave me time to clear my head and regroup when needed.
I also began surrounding myself with positive people who could support me and boost my self-worth. Surrounding yourself with the right environment is incredibly important and can drastically impact one’s overall well-being - emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Being able to share experiences with these individuals can help create a sense of empowerment; Creating ownership over our own lives starts with understanding what works best for us individually - no one else can do it for us! After all the mental hard work and dedication everyday, I’m proud of myself for making space available for growth and progress ; Learning how to cope with mental stressors is not something we should be ashamed of talking about or defending ourselves about but something we should embrace because it often takes more courage than we realize…
