I’ve been dealing with depression and anxiety for the last few years. Sometimes it feels like my days are a never-ending cycle of dark thoughts and worry. I try to stay positive, but when negativity creeps in, it can be hard to overcome.
I’m thankful that I’ve been lucky enough to access counseling which has helped me learn how to cope with my feelings in a healthier way. It can be difficult to talk and share things that make me feel vulnerable, but it’s good for me because it allows me to get the support I need. Therapy has enabled me to manage my emotions much better through learning about what triggers my mental health issues, as well as observing my thoughts and reactions more carefully so that I can better respond in difficult situations.
The most important thing is to learn how to take care of myself - doing regular check-ins on how I’m feeling helps me identify any warning signs early and allows me to look out for myself by finding healthy ways to manage or even prevent episodes of anxiety and depression before they get too intense. Small changes like getting adequate rest, exercising regularly, eating nutritious food, and reaching out for help when necessary have all gone a long way towards helping keep my moods stable as I continue living life day by day.

Hi there,
I understand where you’re coming from - it sounds like you’ve been going through some really tough times. It’s great that you’ve been able to access counseling and share your feelings in order to get the support you need. Taking care of ourselves mentally is a process of trial and error, so you should give yourself credit for being proactive about learning how to cope with your emotions.
It’s also good that you’re paying close attention to what triggers your mental health issues, as well as tuning into your thoughts and behaviors more closely. Making sure to get enough rest, eating well-nutritionally balanced meals, exercising when possible, and seeking help when necessary are all smart ways of looking out for yourself and helping keep your moods in check. Trust me - the little things do make a difference in the long run!
Feel free to reach out if you ever need someone to talk to. Best of luck!
