I read this article about the impact of Covid-19 school closures on children’s mental health. It’s heartbreaking to see how much these closures have affected children’s mental health, with increases in depression, anxiety, and feelings of isolation. It’s especially concerning for children who already had underlying mental health issues. It’s heart-wrenching to think of the long-term effects that this could have on children’s mental health, as well as the impact it could have on their academic performance. It’s clear that something needs to be done to ensure that children receive the support and resources they need to manage their mental health, even when schools are closed. We need to work together to create a safe and supportive environment for our children, so they can thrive despite the challenges of Covid-19.
