Dealing with separation anxiety as an adult can be incredibly challenging. It’s easy to feel like we should have outgrown these feelings, but the truth is, many of us still struggle with them. I’m 56 years old and finding myself experiencing separation anxiety more than ever before. Whether it’s the fear of being alone or the dread of being away from my loved ones, it’s a constant battle. But I’ve come to realize that it’s okay to feel this way and that seeking help is not a sign of weakness. I’ve been working on different coping strategies, like mindfulness and therapy, and I’m slowly starting to see progress. If you’re in the same boat, just know that you’re not alone. It’s okay to ask for help and to take the time to work through these feelings. We’re all on this path together.
