As a 22-year-old woman dealing with intrusive PTSD, I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel at times. The constant bombardment of unwanted thoughts and memories can make it hard to focus on anything else. But I’ve learned some coping strategies that have really helped me. For one, mindfulness and grounding techniques have been a game-changer for me. Taking a moment to focus on my senses and bring myself back to the present can really help to ease some of the overwhelming thoughts. I’ve also found support groups and therapy to be incredibly valuable in my healing process. Just having a safe space to talk about what I’m going through and know that I’m not alone has been so comforting. I know it can feel hopeless at times, but please know that there is hope and help out there. You are not alone in this, and it’s okay to reach out for support.
