Coping with First Responder Stress

As a 36-year-old woman working as a first responder, I have experienced the immense stress that comes with the job. It’s tough to see and experience traumatic events on a daily basis. I’ve found that finding healthy coping mechanisms and seeking support from peers and mental health professionals has been crucial in managing my stress. Taking the time to prioritize self-care and engaging in activities that bring me joy has also made a significant difference in my mental well-being. I know it can be challenging, but I want to encourage others in a similar situation to reach out for help and not suffer in silence. You are not alone, and there are resources and support available to help you navigate through the challenges of first responder stress.
