Childhood Independence Is a Mental-Health Issue

This article is a great reminder of the importance of allowing children to experience independence. As a parent, I understand the urge to protect your children and keep them safe, but it’s important that they’re given the opportunity to explore the world and learn how to take care of themselves. I believe that developing these skills at a young age can have a hugely positive impact on their mental health as they enter adulthood. Nurturing independence in children can also teach them important life lessons such as resilience and problem solving. It’s natural for parents to worry, but it’s important to trust our children and give them the freedom to explore and grow.
