It’s refreshing to see someone like Aryna Sabalenka prioritizing their mental health and speaking out about it. As an 18-year-old woman, I can definitely relate to the pressure and expectations she faces, both professionally and personally. It’s so important to remember that all of us have different needs when it comes to taking care of our mental health. Whether it’s taking breaks from our favourite sport or abstaining from engaging in a certain activity, we should all feel empowered to make decisions that allow us to prioritize our well-being.

Sabalenka’s decision is one that could really encourage other individuals, athletes or not, to reevaluate their own habits and form new ones to create more positive environments for themselves.
