Anxiety fatigue is a real thing and it sucks

What stood out to me was how often we talk about anxiety and its effects, yet the fatigue that comes with it doesn’t get as much attention. I’ve been experiencing this firsthand lately, and it’s been a real struggle. It’s like, on the outside, I might appear to be doing okay, but inside, I feel completely drained.

Some days, I wake up with this heavy feeling, almost like I’ve run a marathon in my sleep. I mean, just thinking about the day ahead can be exhausting. It’s not just the anxiety itself—it’s the way it lingers, tightening its grip and leaving me feeling mentally and physically worn out. I’ve tried to push through it, thinking that if I just keep busy, I’ll feel better. But honestly, that can sometimes make it worse.

I’ve found that taking a step back and giving myself permission to rest is so important. It’s okay to say, “Hey, I need a break today.” Whether it’s curling up with a good book, watching a favorite show, or just sitting quietly with my thoughts, I’ve learned that these moments of downtime can actually recharge my batteries. It’s kind of a balance, though, isn’t it? Finding what helps soothe the anxiety while also combating that fatigue.

It would be great to hear how others manage this too. Have you found any strategies or activities that help you cope with anxiety fatigue? What works for you? I think sharing our experiences can help lift each other up during those tougher days.
