As a 47-year-old woman, I can personally attest to the importance of understanding trauma and using a trauma-informed approach to help women with PTSD heal. It is encouraging to know that more people are beginning to recognize the devastating effects that trauma can have on women and that something is being done to provide help and support in the form of a trauma-informed approach. This article has shown me just how dedicated certain people are in providing care for these vulnerable women and I applaud them for their efforts. While awareness itself may not be enough, it’s an important first step towards helping women heal from their illnesses in order to lead healthier lives.

As a 19-year-old woman, I was very moved by this article.
