Stomach aches and anxiety what helps me cope

Hey everyone! So, I wanted to chat about something that’s been on my mind lately—anxiety and those pesky stomach aches that seem to tag along. Ugh, right? It’s like, just when I think I’ve got my anxiety under control, my stomach decides to throw a little tantrum of its own.

I’ve noticed that when I’m feeling particularly anxious, my stomach really likes to remind me that it’s there, and not in a good way. I used to think it was just something I had to deal with, but I’ve found a few things that actually help me cope.

First off, I’ve started keeping a little journal. I know, I know—sounds cliché, but it’s seriously been a game changer. When I feel that tightness in my stomach, I take a moment to write down what I’m feeling. It’s like releasing a little pressure valve. Just putting my worries on paper helps me see them for what they are, and somehow that makes the anxiety feel a bit less overwhelming.

Another thing that helps? Deep breathing. I know we’ve all heard about it, but I didn’t realize how effective it could be until I actually tried it. I’ll take a few minutes to breathe in through my nose, hold it for a second, and then breathe out slowly through my mouth. It sounds simple, but wow, it can really calm things down. It’s like giving my stomach a little hug from the inside.

And, oh, I can’t forget about herbal tea! Chamomile and peppermint have become my besties. There’s something really soothing about sipping a warm cup of tea when my stomach starts feeling wonky. Plus, it gives me a moment to pause and just chill, which is something we all need sometimes, right?

What about you all? Have you found anything that helps when your stomach and anxiety decide to throw a party together? I’m always curious to hear what works for others. Let’s support each other!
