Overcoming sadness in my 50s

As a 57-year-old man, I never thought I would be dealing with sadness at this stage of my life. It can be hard to admit when we are struggling with our mental health, especially for men who are taught to be strong and stoic. However, I have come to realize that it is important to address these feelings and seek help when needed. I have found solace in talking to a therapist and engaging in activities that bring me joy, such as gardening and walking in nature. It’s okay to not be okay, and it’s okay to ask for help. I want to encourage other men in similar situations to reach out and seek support. We are not alone in this, and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
