I’m very encouraged to hear about the plans for the opioid settlement funds. As a mother of two, it’s important to me that kids are taught about the real risks associated with addiction and opioids. Programs like DARE can help equip young people with the knowledge they need to understand these issues, and know what prevention tactics they can use.
At the same time, it’s just as important that those already suffering from addiction have access to care. I’m glad the funds are going towards helping these individuals get access to vital services and treatment that could potentially save their lives.
