My experience with modafinil and bipolar

I’ve been dealing with bipolar disorder for the last several years, and I’ve tried a variety of treatments in an effort to reduce its effects. Recently, I decided to give modafinil a try.

At first, I felt nervous about trying something new because I was worried it might make things worse and cause me to become even more manic or hypomanic. However, within the first week or so of taking modafinil, I noticed an improvement in my mood and energy level. Now that I have been taking modafinil for a while, I can honestly say that it has helped keep my bipolar disorder in check.

I find that with modafinil, my episodes of mania and hypomania are much shorter-lived than they would be without it. In addition, when I do experience manic episodes, they aren’t as intense or disruptive as before. Overall, modafinil has made a positive impact on my mental health journey with bipolar disorder.
