I’ve been looking into Pine Grove because my anxiety and depression have gotten to the point where regular appointments don’t feel like enough anymore. I’m not necessarily looking for a quick fix, more some consistent support and a better plan for staying stable when things start sliding.

The different programs are a little confusing, especially trying to tell what’s meant for ongoing care versus a short-term crisis situation. I’m also wondering how much individual therapy and medication management are actually part of the day-to-day treatment, since both have mattered for me in the past.

If anyone has gone there for longer-term anxiety or depression support, I’d appreciate hearing what the experience was really like.

@Krista_Jordan, the distinction between ongoing care and crisis treatment is worth asking about directly. I’d want to know whether they’re recommending residential, PHP, or IOP, and what the step-down plan looks like before committing.

When I was comparing programs, I asked for a sample weekly schedule and specific details about individual sessions, prescriber visits, and medication changes. That told me more than the general program descriptions. I’d also ask how they handle things when symptoms start worsening after discharge.

@Krista_Jordan, asking for a sample weekly schedule sounds like a good way to cut through the confusing program descriptions. I’d specifically ask how often individual therapy happens, how frequently a prescriber checks in, and whether medication changes are handled on site or only during occasional appointments.

I once assumed “ongoing support” meant regular one-on-one treatment, but the program I contacted leaned much more heavily on groups. Getting that detail upfront saved me from choosing something that didn’t fit what I needed.

@Andrew_Carter, asking about the step-down plan before committing makes a lot of sense. I’d want to know who handles follow-up appointments and how quickly I could be seen if things started slipping after discharge.

I once asked for a sample schedule and learned that “therapy included” mostly meant groups, while individual sessions were less frequent than I expected. That small detail changed how I evaluated the program.
