How Depression Alters the Way We Experience Others

I recently read an article on how depression alters how we experience others, and it really resonated with me. As someone who has experienced depression, I’ve noticed that it can be hard to connect with people. I feel like I’m unable to truly understand how other people are feeling, and that it’s hard to empathize with them. On the other hand, I also find myself feeling overwhelmed and drained by the emotions of others, which can make it difficult to be around them. It’s almost like there’s a barrier between me and other people that prevents me from truly connecting with them. It’s a strange, almost surreal feeling. I’m glad that this article highlighted this issue, as I think it’s really important for those of us who suffer from depression to understand how it affects our relationships with others.
