I’ve spent most of my adult life battling with addiction, and it’s taken an immense toll on my mental health. As a drug and alcohol counselor, I never thought I would be the one seeking help. But here I am, at 40 years old, realizing that it’s never too late to make a change. Through therapy and support groups, I’ve started to discover the underlying issues that led me to substance abuse. It has been a long and difficult road, but I’m finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. If anyone out there is struggling like I have been, I want to encourage you to seek help. It’s not a sign of weakness, but a step towards reclaiming your life. There is hope, and I am proof that recovery is possible.
