As a 40-year-old woman dealing with an eating disorder, the idea of ‘healthy food’ can feel overwhelming at times. It’s not just about what I eat, but the emotions and thoughts that swirl around in my mind when it comes to food. However, I’ve found that by focusing on nourishing my body with whole, nutrient-dense foods, I am able to find moments of peace and clarity. It’s not always easy, and there are definitely setbacks, but I’m learning to be kind to myself and to see food as a source of fuel and nourishment rather than something to fear.
