Finding Hope in Family-Based Treatment

As a 43-year-old man, I never thought I would be seeking treatment for an eating disorder, let alone a family-based approach. But the support and involvement of my loved ones have made such a difference in my recovery. It’s not easy to open up about these struggles, especially as a man, but I’ve found a sense of comfort and understanding in this type of treatment. It’s been a challenging journey, but seeing my family actively participate in my recovery gives me hope and motivates me to keep pushing forward. I want to encourage other men out there to not be afraid to seek help and involve their families in the process. There is strength in our vulnerability, and together we can overcome this obstacle.
