Finding Freedom Through Letting Go

As a 38-year-old woman dealing with compulsive collecting behavior, I understand how overwhelming and suffocating it can feel to be surrounded by so much stuff. It’s like each item holds a piece of my identity, and I’m terrified to let go of anything. But recently, I’ve been seeking help and support to break free from this cycle. Through therapy and support groups, I’m learning to challenge my beliefs about possessions and the emotions tied to them. It’s not easy, and I still have tough days, but I’m starting to see glimpses of freedom and lightness as I let go of things that no longer serve me. I want to encourage anyone else struggling with compulsive collecting to reach out for help and know that change is possible. We deserve to live in a space that nurtures our mental well-being instead of suffocating it.
