College athletes face high rates of mental health stigma

I believe that more needs to be done to destigmatize mental health among college athletes. Coaches and athletic administrators need to create an environment where athletes feel comfortable expressing their mental health needs without fear of negative judgement. It’s also important that athletes are educated on the signs of mental health issues and feel empowered to reach out for help.

We need to break down the stigma surrounding mental health and make sure that college athletes have the resources and support they need to stay healthy and successful.
