A little boost with positive affirmations

I found this really interesting because I’ve been exploring the power of positive affirmations lately. It’s kind of fascinating how something so simple can shift your mindset when you’re feeling weighed down by depression. I mean, I was skeptical at first—like, can just saying a few nice things to myself really change much?

But then I thought about it. When was the last time I really celebrated my strengths or acknowledged the good things in my life? It’s so easy to get caught up in the negative thoughts that swirl around our minds, drowning out any sense of positivity. So, I decided to give it a shot. I started with a few affirmations that resonated with me, like “I am enough” and “I have the power to create change in my life.”

At first, it felt a bit silly, standing in front of the mirror saying these things. But then something shifted—I began to notice a subtle change in my mood. It wasn’t an overnight miracle, but there was this gentle reminder that I do have strengths, that I can take small steps toward feeling better.

It’s also been a good conversation starter with friends. I shared my experiences with them, and some were really intrigued. They started sharing their own affirmations, which sparked discussions about our struggles and triumphs. I think that’s what I love the most about it; it’s not just about the words. It’s the connection we create around them.

I sometimes wonder how many of us dismiss these little practices because they seem too simple or “fluffy.” But what if they actually hold more weight than we think? Have any of you tried positive affirmations? I’d love to hear your experiences or thoughts on what works for you when it comes to lifting your spirits.
